Zombie Maya Project

Zombie Mesh
Today I designed a mesh for a Zombie in Maya. Using Photoshop I was able to add textures and paint on to the mesh for the Zombie.

Zombie Model
After I have finished with the mesh I then add it to the model in Maya, which is wrapped around the model to give the model more life.

Gun Project

Step 1 - Mood Board
As with every project I start with a mood board of inspirational images for a project, in this case guns I have looked at a range of guns.

Step 2 - Initial Ideas
Here are my three initial sketches of my gun designs after my second design I knew it would be the one I would further develop on.

Step 3 - Final Sketch
After my three rough initial ideas I moved onto my final sketch of my chosen design.

Step 4 - Final Outcome
And Finally I digitally paint my final outcome, for this design I added textures such as leather and rusty metal to give a sense of age and realism. Also I have added a slot where the bullets could fit, which I had forgot to add in on my final sketch. This Gun belongs to a character in a future post apocalyptic world where even the environments are harsh and dangerous.

Character Digital Painting Project

Insect Character
Here is an Insect Character we had to digitally paint on Photoshop, we were given a line work layer with a pallet layer so that we had the body structure ready to paint on to. This was a fun activity to let us develop on are skills in Photoshop as well as learning new techniques  for the future.

Tentacle Project

Step 1 - Mood Board
Here's my mood board research for this project which has images of inspiration to me,
for this project. I have looked at character designs and unique art forms such as the 3D design on the bottom right hand page in the left corner.

Step 2 - Initial Ideas
These are some initial sketches that I had done from my research. I preferred my second sketch and found it to be a more interesting concept.

Step 3 - Final Sketch
After I chose one of my initial ideas, I began to do a detailed sketch using a 3B, 2B and HB pencils. Which I used to add tone and shadowing, the purpose of this was to make it look believable and realistic.

Step 4 - Finalized Outcome
Finally I moved on to digital painting, to bring the character to life with colours. This is a topic I am still quite new to, but I believe with practice I could achieve perfection. But for now my tentacle character looks pretty cool.

Maya Crow Bar Project

Crowbar
This time we were set to watch a tutorial on how to model props for a level environment. Through this tutorial I have discovered that prop making is quite fun and easy to get the hang of. I am really interested to learn more about prop design on this course, and I will be practising in my spare time to get a better understanding of it. Once I completed the crowbar I then added a material on it called Blinn which I changed to the colour black.

Digital Painting Project

An Old Woman
This is the first digital painting I did on my course, it is of an old woman.
I really enjoyed working on this and using the basic tools we learnt I believe it was an excellent task to help us learn.

Robot Project

Step 1 - Mood Board
For a practice of our drawing skills we had to search up different robots to help design a robot character.

Step 2 - Initial Sketches
Here our my three initial sketches of robots that I designed. I decided to go with number 3 because how different he was to other robots that I had seen in my mood board.

Step 3 - Final Outcome
This is my final outcome which I coloured in using colouring pencils, but I personally prefer the initial sketch I did of my robot character.
